This week on Lake Okeechobee the fishing has been pretty good. It’s been the week of the full moon and a wave of big fish has rolled into the shallow flats. The lite winds and the sunny skies have warmed the water temps to the 80’s. Water clarity is good and the fish are moving around a lot.
We are into the summer time patterns, so the first bite in the morning is critical. Topwater, Spinnerbaits and Swim Jigs have been good on the outside grass line first thing in the morning. You have to move around and cover a lot of water and the fish will let you know pretty fast if you are in the right area. Good areas to fish on the north end is Kings Bar, Tin House and 3rd point.
