August 16 – August 23, 2015 Lake Okeechobee Bass Fishing Report

This week on Lake Okeechobee the winds have been light if any wind at all and it is HOT but the fish just keep on biting. The water temp is 85-91 degrees and the water clarity is good all over the lake now.

This week the best bait in the morning was a White Swim Jig on the outside of the Kissimmee grass. Now the best area with the wind so light if any at all, you can see the shad pods in the open water. Just keep moving until you get on them. This bite is over by 07:30. After that time pitch and flip any thing you can see, ie outside Kissimmee grass , Pencil Reeds and go inside too. We also should have a lot of rain this week so that I think will change things as well. Good luck to everyone in this coming week of the BFL. Here is a picture of a couple of fish I caught this week pitching around with a 1oz. Black/Blue jig.
