The last couple of weeks on Lake Okeechobee the fishing has been very good. The winds have been light from the North to North/East 5 -10 mph and the water temp was in the low to mid 70’s. The water clarity is good throughout the lake now.
The best bait the last week or so has been wild shiners. In a 4 hour charter my clients have been catching up to 30 fish. Now on the artificial side it’s a little tougher. The best baits are Spinnerbaits, Rattle Traps, and Senko’s in the deeper water. Good areas to fish are the Pass, Tin House, 4th Point and the Lakeport area of the lake. The water level of Lake Okeechobee has dropped some. We are now at 15.90ft.
