This week on Lake Okeechobee was the week of the new moon and the fishing was on! I can not believe the fish we caught with all the pressure this lake has received in the last 3 weeks. We have had 3 major tournament’s the last month and it is still kicking out fish. The water temp is in the 70’s and the water clarity is good throughout the lake.
The best bait is either wild shiners or top water and there is a swim worm bite too. I have been using a watermelon red colored worm for this bait. The areas of the lake I have been fishing is Grassy Island, Kings Bar, Tin House, and The Lakeport area of the lake.
