July 14 – July 20, 2014 Lake Okeechobee Bass Fishing Report

This week on Lake Okeechobee the winds have been light and mostly from the South and the water temp has been in the high 80’s. The water clarity on the East side of the lake is a little dirty now and there is some what of an algae bloom going on now. Despite the algae I have been catching some fish in it.
The best bait in the morning for me this week has been a Strike King (1/2)oz. Black/Blue Swim Jig with a Gambler Mega Daddy (Shadow Blue) Trailer or a Strike King (1/2)oz. White Swim Jig with a White Reaction Innovation Skinny Dipper. I have been fishing the outside Kissimmee grass. After the morning bite is over I have been Flipping the Pencil Grass / Kissimmee Grass with a Gambler (1oz) Jigzilla in Black/Blue. The bite is still pretty light. Good areas this week have been Kings Bar, 3rd Point, Tin House and J&S. Here is a picture of my buddy Brock with a couple of fish that we caught this week. You can check the water levels of Lake Okeechobee at www.okeechobeejust4bass.com.
