The last couple of weeks here on Lake Okeechobee, the water has been rising with all the rain. The water temperature has drop to be 83 degrees in the mornings and up to 87 degrees in the afternoon. The water clarity is good on the East, North and West end of the lake.
The morning bite is still in the Kissimmee grass with Swim jigs, Spinnerbaits and Chatter baits. After the morning bite is over, go to the inside and Flip/Pitch a Jig or Creature Bait in the Pencil Reeds. Good areas to fish are Grassy Island, Kings Bar, J&S and the Lakeport area of the lake.
