This week on Lake Okeechobee the fishing has been fantastic. You can go almost anywhere and catch fish. The winds have been from the East 5-10 mph most of the week and the water temps have been in the low 80’s. The water clarity is good all over the lake now too.
The best bait is still the Strike King Swim Jig in all white in the morning. With the water dropping I have been using the 1/2 oz. size because the Kissimmee grass is a little thicker now. After the morning bite is over, go inside to the Pencil Reeds and flip/pitch a Gambler Jigzilla in Black/Blue and a Senko with a small weight. Good areas to fish are J&S, Kings Bar, 3rd point, and the Lakeport area of the lake. Here is a picture of my buddy Joe with a couple of fish we caught this week.
