This week on Lake Okeechobee the winds have been from the North, North/East anywhere from 5-20 mph. The water temp is 79 in the afternoons and water clarity is good all over the lake now. This was the week of the new moon and a lot of bigger fish where moving in for the first wave of the spawn.
The Shiner fishing is the best thing going right now. I am catching over 40 fish in a 4 hour charter and have some big fish mixed in that catch. On the artificial side the best bait in the morning is a Reaction Innovation Trixie Shark and the best cover this week has been fishing the Lilly Pads. In the afternoon I have been Flipping a (1 oz.)Gambler Jigzilla in Black/Blue on Cattails in the middle ground. Good Areas to fish are Kings Bar, the Pass, 4th point and the Lake port area of the Lake.
