This week on Lake Okeechobee the fishing has been fair. We had a front for the first part of this report and it slowed fishing down some. The winds have been from the North / Northeast and the water temp is in the low 60’s now and the water clarity is good throughout the lake.
The best bait to use is wild shiners right now and you can catch some artificial fish as well in the afternoon when the water warms up. Good baits are swim jigs and a speed worms all in dark colors. Good areas to fish are Grassy Island, the Pass , Tin House and the Lakeport area of the lake. Here is a picture of me with a couple of fish that I caught this past week.
